Priceless

So, I recently wrote a song called "Priceless" containing the lyrics in the photo above. As I looked at the photo, I realized that not everyone truly believes that  their heart is worth more than gold (I know that there's the saying that's just thrown around, but I think it should really be looked at as something special).

People value gold and other metals a lot. They make fine jewelry to display those metals, and they can be worth a fortune. And in the phrase, it's saying that your heart is worth more than gold. Really, it's worth more than anything since gold is one of the most treasured things.

I've done some research and there are plenty of verses in the Bible that have to do with being worth more than gold, but a few that really caught my eye were:

"She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her" (Proverbs 3:15 NIV).

"These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed" (1 Peter 1:7 NIV).

"They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb" (Psalm 19:10 NIV).

I feel that they all fit perfectly into the message that I'm trying to get across, with each one of them contributing a piece to the puzzle. The verse in Proverbs speaks about a woman being worth more than anything else a man could want, and more precious than anything. Jewels could not buy her or her love. The verse in 1 Peter, the second verse, talks about our faith being worth more than gold, showing its importance. Lastly, the verse in Psalm 19 originally talks about the instructions from the Lord, and how rewarding they are, but I think this verse could also relate and be applied to people.

You know how moments can be priceless? Well, your heart is, too.

You are, too.

If there's any price to be paid, then it's the one that Jesus already paid for on the cross.

Speaking of Jesus on the cross, Easter is coming up very shortly—on April first; April Fools Day. I can see how people will be making jokes on Easter, but I feel like this year will be the one that's not really focused on Him. Yes, Easter and April Fools just so happens to fall on the same day, but Jesus isn't a joke.

A good example of combining the two holidays, is the picture below.

I found this quite funny. It's a great way to have a joke, but still center the day around Christ.

Anyway, I don't think people realize what they're worth. God, the Creator of the world and universes, created you and you're worth so much to Him that the Savior of the world died for you. I know that the "He died for you" phrase has been used a lot, but think of it this way:

He died just for you.

While they were pounding in the nails, making Him suffer, bleed, and cry out, He was thinking of you. He was thinking of how much He loved you. He went through with God's plan because it was worth it . . . for you.

Gold doesn't compare to how much you're worth. Not even close. The enemy tried to tempt Jesus with riches and kingdoms, but He knew it wasn't worth it. Gold couldn't buy His love, so why should it buy yours? Believers want to make their hearts as close to His as possible, so if gold can't compare to Jesus or His heart, then why would it ever be able to be compared to yours?

You are priceless.
