Goodbye to Home
You know how a place ends up feeling like another home? A place where you're comfortable and you feel like you belong? It's a great feeling. But what about when you need to say goodbye to that special home? It may be a friend's place, it may be a church, it may be a group of people, or it may even be your actual home. Whatever the case may be, it's hard to say goodbye. Being at a point in your life where things are coming to an end is hard. It may be your last time seeing people you've grown to care about, or even doing something you enjoy.
I've gone through this a few times in my life and it'll be approaching again for me soon enough. My dog had passed away almost three years ago, and she felt like home to me. She was so special, and the next day I wouldn't let myself cry anymore because she had such a happy life. Now, about 99% of the time, I only smile when I think about her. The same thing goes for other experiences I've had to say goodbye to. I just smile at the good times I've had.
Knowing that a goodbye is getting near isn't the greatest of feelings, but it does help to remind you to embrace the moments and enjoy every little heartbeat while you're there—and, for me, it reminds me to take more pictures (since I usually don't take too many).
But just remember that God has a perfect plan for you and saying goodbye is just the first step towards saying hello, and finding that new home. And someday I'll be saying goodbye to this world, but I will happily say hello to my forever home—heaven.
