The Darkness Was Added

Some people say that life today is bad. But is it really?

God flooded the whole earth because of how sinful and wicked the world was.

We aren't near that yet.

Yes, we live in a world with sin. That fact hasn't changed. This world is beautiful. If one doesn't see it as so, then they're ignoring the goodness in it, the goodness that God has placed in our lives, in our hearts.

There's a perspective that some see where people think light (Christ) is being added and spread as time goes on (that does have truth to it), but, really, it's been the other way around. When God created the world, at one point, sin (darkness) was added, and we need to just relight it. 

People make it sound rare that there's good in the world. No, there's plenty of it. People are just highlighting the drama that surrounds them.

What has happened to the good? It hasn't disappeared. It's always been there, even when the world became wicked enough that God flooded it, Noah and his family was still there, and God in them. Good always existed.

But why do people make us think we're surrounded by so much bad in this world and that the good stuff is rare? Well, that's what Satan wants us to see and because tragic events tend to grab our attention more compared to the positive ones. So much good happens every day. We can all be a light to the world—in big ways or small. You can simply hold the door open for someone or you can pay for the person in the car behind you when you get coffee next time. Remember, those little things can be big for someone else. Whatever your acts of kindness may be, even if it's just a smile, you're still spreading God's love and His light. God will have the victory and light will succeed.

Hold onto the hope of God and never let go of the light He has given you. We don't need to light up the world as if it's new territory that needs saving, because the darkness was added, we just need to reclaim what's ours—what's God's.

No matter what you're able to do, be a light for Jesus.
