God's Movements of Change
To be honest, I can't wait to change my last name. It sounds kind of silly, I know. But seriously, the day my last name is changed is the day that God's promise is fulfilled (well, one of them). I'm so excited to one day look back and see how things contributed to his promises.
Well, this is what it's like to be younger—your future is a big mystery. Ten years ago, I had very different ideas of what I thought life would be like now and what my adult years would look like. My goals and priorities have most certainly changed.
You know, we should be excited to embrace change when God has it in store for us. Change can be scary because we don't know what's on the other side of that door, but God's got the key and will open the right door for you.
Think about a great opportunity you had but you needed to take a leap of faith and it worked out. Change isn't always bad like some people make it appear. If you trust in God, then you have nothing to fear. His plan for you cannot be derailed by even the most evil works of Satan. God could make Satan disappear in the blink of an eye, but then we'd all be forced to follow Him like robots, and that's not what He wants. His plan is being executed according to what He wants. Nothing can stop Him.
It feels like I tend to kind of repeat myself post after post by saying, "Trust in God," and "He loves you so much," but those are some truths that people battle with a lot, and I'm here, as a writer for God, to remind others of that. He wants me to be an author (and a wife and mom) and, so far as I can tell, this is my life's purpose. And I'm so happy with that.
When you want what God wants for you, then you do become happier. It's true. And embracing those changes that are from God are so critical, whether they be major or minor changes—He cares about all of it. He worked to create you and this big plan for you. There's no way—it's impossible—that He doesn't care about you.
I once wanted to be a famous singer or Broadway actress, but God changed my mind and eventually led me to writing—where He wants me to be. Those changes from wanting fame to not even desiring it are truly life-changing and would not have happened without God, where the only success I want (glory given to God) is to touch at least just one person. I want to touch one person like God touched me through an author.
I'm excited for change because it's God's movements of change throughout my life.
