Snowflakes

I'm sure most of us have thought about the intricacy of snowflakes. Each one designed differently, and yet there's millions upon millions that fall every year. Seems almost impossible, doesn't it? Have you ever tried to design and draw even 50 different snowflakes? Not very easy. So, if God could put that much detail in such a simple thing as a snowflake, what makes you think your own life and plan are any less important? He, God of the Universe—of everything, created and designed you. He crafted your body, your mind, and your life, himself. He created this world—every single snowflake—and He made you. Like how incredible is that?

This is kind of off-topic, but do you think there's like a snowflake factory in heaven where they design snowflakes? That just humors me. God gives an order: "Joy, I need 3 million snowflakes in Madison, Wisconsin ready for the next day on Earth." Humor, though. I bet God's sense of humor is the best. I don't think we really get to see it that often, because we're dealing with ups and downs, so we don't get as many chances to see it.

But, really . . . why would God give so much thought and detail into something as simple as a snowflake and not put that much work into your life and a plan for you? He loves you too much to abandon you like that. He just couldn't. You are so incredibly valuable to Him. He made you for a reason.

You weren't created by accident; He purposefully created you with a plan. "For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). This famous verse could not be more true. He is our Father, and parents want their children to succeed and be happy, and that's what He wants for you.

You know how every snowflake is unique and different? Well, so are you and His plan for you. Just because someone else is advancing quicker—or appear to be—it doesn't mean that God doesn't have a great plan for your life, because He does, and it's far better than you can imagine.

I remember looking outside while it was snowing and I'd see the snowflakes fall, amazed that each one could be different. Something incredible to think about is the fact that every single snowflake has been different throughout all of time. Just like His people.

This season, when it's colder outside and the snow falls, just remember that God has got you. Since God can put all that work put into something as simple as a snowflake, then just know that He worked even harder to create your wonderful life—your intricate, beautiful life.
