True Love

We all seek for true love in many ways. In a spouse, parents, friends, family . . . but the most important relationship we should be seeking out is the one with God.

I know that it sometimes can seem silly to chase after something you can't see or that seems out of reach, but life is so much easier when you understand and accept God's love. When one does accept His love, the Fruits of the Spirit really start to shine through (being love, joy, peace, patients, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). You find yourself depending on God for those things instead of depending on yourself.

God wants to hold you when you're hurt, lift you when you're down, and be the light when you're lost in the shadows of darkness. He wants what's best for you.

Just imagine someone who never does wrong, is always supporting, always loving, and is simply perfect. Quite impossible, right? God is just like that. Sometimes it seems impossible that someone could be so loving, but it's true. When those stressful days hit you, and the sadness surrounds you, look to Him. He won't let you down.

Here's some lyrics that describe what a close, intimate relationship with God is like:

"I wanna sit at Your feet
Drink from the cup in Your hand
Lay back against You and breathe
Feel Your heart beat

This love is so deep
It's more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace
It's overwhelming"

[The More I Seek You—Chorus]

He has so much love to give, and He never stops giving, no matter how much we don't think we deserve it. We should chase after God and never let go, because He never let go of us. God is love, and if we don't truly know God, then we don't truly know love, and knowing God is an experience of a lifetime.

Find your true love—God—and chase after Him, because He's been chasing after you since before you took your first breath.
