Trust the Planner

If you're anything like me, being organized is something that pleases you. I enjoy having a planner, I like having labels and folders, I color-code things when needed, and having things organized isn't only aesthetically pleasing, but it's easier to go through this crazy concept called life. But when life throws things at you, it can be hard to keep your head above the crashing waves of the water, especially if they were completely unexpected.

So what do we do when a storm rolls in? We trust God and adapt. God doesn't promise to necessarily make life easy because we follow Him, but He does promise to stay by our side and go through the obstacles of life with us. Essentially, life can seem easier because we can find peace in God when others cannot if they reject Him. So, in a sense, life does seem easier internally, but it doesn't mean life will get easier externally—it can but there's no guarantee.

God wants the best for us, of course, but even when our situations don't seem the best, God can turn them around for His good. And if you want what God wants, then His goodwill ultimately becomes the best outcome in your eyes, even if everything is still confusing.

Why do I have a planner? Because I like to keep track of events and things that need to be done. I like to plan ahead and be prepared. But life doesn't always go according to my planner, that's for sure. There have been monthly spreads where I have so many arrows indicating that an event as been moved or I've used white-out tape to erase pen marks that are no longer needed. There were days where I was so busy that I had to make it a priority to have some sort of alone time, and there are also days where life seems super easy, task-wise.

Christians are almost meant to have harsh times hit them. Satan finds Christians to be a threat to him, so he's going to attack them, but God's on our side and we will always win, even if we can't see the outcome ourselves. Victory belongs to the One who defeated death.

I know the feeling of bracing for the impact of the non-stop world. You tend to enjoy the slower days because you know it's about to get hectic. We've all been there. And God's right there with you, too. But the main focus should be trusting God, knowing He'll pull you through life's stumbles and its joys too.

Our days may be numbered, but the number of times you can glorify God in this life and the next are limitless, so don't forget to do so with confidence. He's right there with you.

Many people have said that God is the author, so we should stop trying to steal His pen, and it's completely true. We should trust the author, let Him direct our plans, and trust Him in knowing that life will turn out because He is here. He already designed your days and He already intertwined your path with others so that His plan for you can unfold. Why not trust the planner?
