"His Whole World"

A few months ago, I wrote part of a song called, "His Whole World." It's really about how time just flies by and to embrace those moments, big and small, and to hold onto them, because they won't last forever. The song is centered around a mother and her son. Time flew by and he's already moving on and someone else—his love—will be his whole world.

I know that I can't wait to be a mother someday, and it'll be heartbreaking for my own kids to leave, but that's just a part of being a mother, it comes with the role. It was interesting for me to write from this perspective. It's like it's from a narrator's perspective, but it's also from the mother's point of view. It's really about that transition of growing up and moving on. I think in the bridge I'll include something that references to him holding his mother's hand again. Anyway, enjoy...

Verse 1
“Time flies by, way too fast,” she says
She wish she could, go back to each, moment
And feel her little, boy embrace her, again
But now he’s grown, a prince charming, young man

Pre-Chorus
She didn’t know
It’d be this hard
To say goodbye
‘Cause he stole her heart
...In the process

Chorus
Every little smile, every little laugh
Each “I love you,” it takes her back
To when his hand still fit in hers
She was his whole world

When he said his first word, when he took his first step
She was always right there, when he took his first breath
He’ll find his own real special girl
And she’ll be his whole world
She’ll be his whole world

She’ll be his whole world…
